Update 2024: Das Flughafenprojekt wurde 2018 abgesagt. Die Zad Notre Dame des Landes wurde daraufhin größtenteils geräumt. Nur die Kollektive, die bereit waren, mit dem Staat zu kollaborieren und sich zu legalisieren, durften bleiben. Es kam zu schmutzigen Machtkämpfen und Gewalttätigkeiten. Eine wichtige Rolle spielte dabei eine linke politische Strömung namens « Appellisten ». Im Grunde sind das Leute (oft Intellektuelle), die Entscheidungsprozesse und Kommunikation manipulieren, weil sie glauben, dass ihre Strategie die beste ist und dass alles andere sich regeln wird, wenn der Kapitalismus zerstört ist. Und gegenwärtige z.B. sexistische oder rassistische Probleme von sekundärer Bedeutung. Der Zweck heiligt die Mittel.
Seitdem ist « Appellist » zu einer Beleidigung für jemanden geworden, der mit Privilegien ausgestattet ist, seine Machtposition missbraucht und/oder manipulatif ist. Kaum wer wird sich selbst als Appellist identifizieren. Und gleichzeitig ist es sehr unklar, was der Begriff genau bedeutet, denn die Appellisten haben/hatten eine Vielzahl von toxischen Praktiken.
Heute versteht sich die Zad als alternativer Ort und die Leute, die bei den extrem gewalttätigen Räumungen mitgewirkt haben, sind zum Teil immer noch da und vermarkten diesen Ort mit superteuren Öko-Urlaubsaktivitäten. Ich höre immer noch regelmäßig schmutzige Geschichten und ich finde nicht, dass eins diese Vergangenheit ignorieren kann.
Das ist eine sehr abgekürzte Zusammenfassung eines extrem komplexen Sachverhalts. Ich bin nicht in der Lage das hier genauer zu erklären, sorry. Nach Nürnberg zurückzukommen nach 3 Monaten Fahrradreise war nicht der Hit. Ich wusste nicht mehr was ich in dieser Stadt machen sollte, ich hatte kein Zuhause mehr, die Orte wo ich aktiv war haben sich nicht verändert (oder nicht in der Art wie ich mir das vorstellte…) (Bitte nehmt mir das nicht übel, liebe Nürnbergis!) Ich wollte seit langem la zad sehen. Seit dem ich auf meiner ersten Frankreich-Reise davon gehört hatte. Dann kam eine Mail von meinen FreundInnen (welchen ich empfohlen hatte, dort hin zu gehen), das es sau schön dort ist und das ich kommen muss. Also habe ich die Gelegenheit genutzt, nicht so gebunden zu sein und bin wieder losgefahren.
Es wird mir nicht möglich sein, von allen meinen Eindrücken und Erfahrungen zu berichten, die ich für erzählenswert halte. Zumindest nicht jetzt. Hier passiert so viel und der Ort selbst ist total inspirierend. Mer kann hier alles finden. Das ist das Schöne an la zad. Dabei ist nicht zu vergessen, dass diese ganze vielfaeltige Welt ja voellig illegal ist(Aus der Sicht der Regierung). All diese ambitionierten Bauprojekte finden statt, obwohl jeden Moment eine Polizeiarmee anruecken koennte. Hunderten, nein tausenden Leuten ist es egal. Sie leben hier, schauen mal vorbei, kommen wieder, bleiben haengen. Es ist ihnen nicht unbedingt egal, vielleicht sind sie auch gerade deswegen da, weil es verboten ist. Um « den Kampf gegen den Flughafen und seine Welt » mit zu kaempfen.
Absurderweise kann dieser Ort ja nur auf Grund dieses kapitalistischen groessenwahnsinnigen Geldschleuder-Projektes existieren. Waere hier nicht der Bau eines gigantischen Flughafens geplant, waeren die Suempfe und Hecken laengst flurbereinigt worden und in landwirtschaftlich industriell genutzte Flaeche umgewandelt worden. So aber versammelt sich ein maximal bunter Haufen, um diesen Flecken unberuehrte Erde (Eigentlich passierte hier nichts seit den ersten Flughaefenplaenen in den 60ern.) in ein Paradies zu verwandeln.

Updated 2024: The airport project was cancelled in 2018. The Notre Dame des Landes zad was then evicted in large parts. Only those collectives who agreed to collaborate with the state and to legalize themselves were allowed to stay. Dirty power politics and violence ensued. A left-wing political movement called « Appellistes » played an important role in this. Basically, these are people (often intellectuals) who manipulate decision-making and communication because they believe that their strategy is the best and that if capitalism is destroyed, everything else will be fine. Sexist or racist issues, for example, are of secondary importance. The cause justifies the means. Since then, « appellist » has become an insult for someone who is endowed with privileges and who abuses their position of power in a context of leftist struggle. And no one self-identifies as an appellist. And at the same time it’s very unclear what that term really means, because the appellists have/had a multitude of toxic practices.
Today, the zad claims to be an alternative place, and some of the people who collaborated in the extremely violent evictions are still there, marketing the place with expensive ecological holiday activities. I still hear the dirty stories on a regular basis (from la zad and elsewhere) and I don’t think we should ignore this dynamics at all.

Coming back to Nuremberg after 3 months of bicycle-travels wasn’t so nice. I didn’t really know anymore what to do in that town, I didn’t have a home anymore, the places where I spent my time didn’t change (or not in a way I would appreciate…) I wanted to go to la zad since a long time. Since I heard of it on my first France-trip. And then a mail of my friends arrives (whom I recommended to go there), telling me that its so nice and that I have to come. So I took the chance, not being settled so much to leave again.
It will be impossible to tell about all the impressions and experiences that I think are worth to tell. At least not now. There are so many things going on and the place itself is as well very inspiring. You can find everything at la zad, that’s what makes it so beautiful. Not to forget, that all this diverse world is completly illegal (in the view of the government). All these ambitious building projects take place although at any moment a army of cops could show up. Hundreds, no thousands of people don’t care. They live here, pass by, come back, get caught. They don’t necessarily don’t care, probably being it forbidden might be reason, why they are here. Absurdly, this place can only exist due to this capitalistic megalomaniacal money-pit-project. If not the construction of a gigantic airport was planned here, the swamps and hedges would have been erased by land consolidation and transformed into industrially agricultural used land. Instead, a maximal diverse bunch of people changes this pieco of untouched earth (actually nothing happened here since the first airport-plans in the 60s) into a paradise.

Mis à jour 2024: Le projet de l’aeroport à été annulé en 2018. La zad de notre dame des landes à été ensuite éxpulsée en grandes parties. Seulement les collectifs qui étaient prets à collaborer avec l’état et de se légaliser ont pu rester. Des sales histoires de pouvoir et de violences se sont passées. Un courant politique de gauche nommé « Appellistes » a joué un role important la dedans. En gros, ce sont des personnes (souvent intello) qui manipulent les prises de décisions et la communication en pensant que leur visoin est la plus pértinante et que si on détruisait le capitalisme, tout le reste ira bien. Mais pour l’instant des problematiques sexistes ou racistes par exemple, sont d’importance sécondaire. La cause justifie les moyens. Depuis, « appelliste » est dévenue une insulte pour qq1 qui est garni de privilèges et qui abuse de sa position de pouvoir dans un contexte de lutte gauchiste. et personne se révéndique appelliste. Ou alors que des gros cons. Et en meme temps ces très flou keske ca veut réellement dire car les appellistes ont/avaient une multitude de pratiques toxiques differentes.
Aujourd’hui la zad se veut lieu alternatif et les gens qui ont collaboré aux expulsions extremement violentes sont en partie toujours là et commercialisent cet endroit avec des activités de vacances écolo chèr. J’entends encore régulierement des sales histoires (de la zad et d’allieurs) et je trouve pas du tout que on peut ignorer cette dynamique.

Retourner à Nuremberg après 3 mois de voyage à vélo était pas terrible. Je savais plus quoi faire dans cette ville, j’avais plus de chez moi, les lieux de ma vie se sont pas changées (ou pas dans un bon sense…). Je voulais aller à la zad depuis longtemps, depuis que j’en ai entendu pendant ma premiere voyage en France. Et voilà, un mail de mes copaines arrive, (je les a recommandé d’y aller) que c’est trop cool et qu’il faut que je viens! Alors j’ai pris l’occasion de pas être trop planté pour repartir.
Ça va être impossible de parler de tout mes impressions et expériences que je pense qu’il vaut les raconter. Au moins pas maintenant. Il y a tellement beaucoup des choses qui se passent ici et le lieu soit même est super inspirant. Tu peux trouver tout à la zad, c’est ça ce qui est magnifique. En même temps, il faut pas oublier, que toute cette monde variée est completement illegal (du poit de vue de l’état). Tout ces projets de construction ambitionées existent, bien que toujours une armée de police peut arriver. Des centaines, non des milliers de gens s’en foutent. Illes vivent ici, passent, reviennent, ne decollent plus. Illes s’en foutent pas forcement, peut-être c’est exactement ça, que c’est interdit, qu’illes sont là. Pour participer à « la lutte contre l’aeroport et son monde ».
Comble d’absurde, l’endroit peut exister que à cause de cet projet capitaliste mégalomane. Si il y avait pas des plans pour un aeroport gigantesque, les marais et les haies etaient erasées par remembrement depuis longuetemps et utilisé par agriculture industrielle. Mais comme ça, une bande joyeuse rassemble pour tranformer ce but de terre presque pas touché (en fait, rien s’est passé depuis les premièr plans d’aeroport dans les années 60.) en un paradies.
