[de] Eine Kopie sollten wir als erste Aufgabe im Laque-Atelier in Paris machen, um die Technik zu erlernen. Ich habe einen Haufen Transparentpapier mit durchgepausten Pflanzenmustern bekommen, sollte mir daraus ein Motiv zusammenstellen. Nagut, ich suche nach interessanten Formen, zeichne sie durch, als die Professorin schaut, was ich mache, ist sie gar nicht zufrieden, meint ich hätte die falschen Muster genommen (scheinbar irgendwelche Fehler die beim Abpausen passiert waren, die ich aber am interessantesten fand). Hatte allerdings gar keine Lust irgendwelche Pflanzen abzumalen, und hab mir schon überlegt nochmal das Atelier zu wechseln. Irgendwie kam mir dann die Idee mit dem Frosch, ich habe einfach mal einen Entwurf gezeichnet und ihn vorgeschlagen. Nicht wie alle anderen Neuen, die widerwillig ihre Pflanzenmotive malen mussten. (was mir aufgrund meines Erasmus-Studenten-Daseins auch einfacher möglich war…) Es war hart dort anzukommen und dieser einnehmenden extrovertierten Professorin die Stirn zu bieten, oft nein zu sagen zu einengenden Vorgaben mit meinem schlechten Französisch. Das hat sich aber gelohnt, sie war dann trotzdem begeistert von meiner Zeichnung und hat mir gezeigt, wie ich sie am besten umsetzten kann. Und mir noch den bereichernden Tipp gegeben, die Szene im mittleren Bild umzudrehen. Ich hatte eine super Zeit im Atelier de Laque!
Das Bild ist eine Holzplatte auf die Eierschalen geklebt sind. Und dann werden verschiedene Farbschichten darüber gemalt, der Himmel besteht aus 4 Schichten verschiedener Blaus und Schwarz. Dann wird das ganze mit feinem Schleifpapier wieder abgetragen, die Eierschalen treten wieder hervor und die Farbschichten ergeben unglaubliche Effekte!

The Frog
[en] A copy was the first exercise in the Laque-workshop in École Olivier de Serres, to learn the technic. I recieved a buch of transparent papers with traced patterns of plants. I was supposed to combine myself a motive from them. Ok, well, I search for interresting forms, trace them. But as the professor is looking what I’m doing, she is not at all happy, says that I took the wrong patterns (apparently some mistakes that happned with the tracing, which I actually liked the most). Me again, I was totally not keen on to copy some plants and already thought of changing the workshop again. At some point I had the idea with that frog, just drew a sketch and proposed it. Not like all the other new pupils, who reluctantly had to draw their plants. (I could do that easily due to my special status as erasmus-student) Still it was hard to arrive there and to face up to this extroverted professor, often saying no to restrictive guidlines with my bad french. But it was worth it, in the end she was enthusiastic about my drawing and showed me how to put it best into practice. And she gave me the enriching advice to turn the scene in the middle upside down. I had a very nice time in the Atelier de Laque!
The picture is a piece of wood with eggshells glued onto it. Then, several layers of colour are painted all over. The sky is composed out of 4 different layers of blues and black. And then, the whole thing is grinded off with some very fine sand-paper. The eggshells reappear and the layers of colour make unbelievable effects!
La Grenuille
[fr]Faire une copie était la premiere exercise dans l’atelier de Laque à l’École Olivier de Serres à Paris. Pour apprendre la technique. J’ai recu une pile des feuilles de papier transparent avec des motifs des plats calqués. J’ai du choisir quelques et en faire une composition. Bon, alors je cherche pour des formes interessantes, calque les. Et comme la prof vient, elle pas du tout content, dit que j’ai pris pas les bonnes motifs(apparament c’était des fautes, venant de calquer, que moi je trouvais les plus interessantes). Mais j’avais pas du tout envie de copier des plants et déjà réfléchis de changer l’aterlier. Puis, j’avais l’idée de la grennuille, j’ai justement dessiné une croquis et la proposé. Pas comme tout les autres nouveaux étudiants, qui ont du peintre leur motifs de plant à contrecœur. (Il faut dire que c’était plus facile pour moi, à cause de mon status de étudiant erasmus…) Il etait dûr d’y arriver, de tenir tête à ce prof extravertie, dire souvent non à des aux préscriptions étouffants avec mon francais mauvais (à ces jours là je parlais pas bien du tout!) Mais ca vaudrait la peine, elle était quand même enthousiasmée par mon dessin et m’a montré comment la réaliser le mieux. Et ma donné le reinsengnement enrichissant de tourner la scène au milieu. J’avais un temps superbe dans l’Atelier de Laque!
Le tableau est un bou de bois avec des coquis d’oeuf collé au dessous. Après on met plusiers couches de laque. Le ciel se compose de 4 chouches differents de bleu et noir. Ensuite on ponse pour faire reapparaître les coquis d’oeuf. Les couches de couleur font des effets magnifiques!
